How could I forget?! My roommates and I shared our first experience at a milonga--tango bar--Sunday evening as well!
After a stressful time trying to find a milonga that would be open on a Sunday night, we headed to Avenida Corrientes (Broadway) and found what we were looking for. Not exactly what weexpected, but a cultural experience in itself.
It was the classic tango that Carolina prepared us for--all the proper moves, three dances with each partner and the "cortina" break in between songs for speed-dating type socializing. It was very sensual without being provocative, and made us look forward to taking tango lessons! The crowd was a lot older and very experienced in their tango dancing, so it was even more fun to watch people who knew what they were doing. Here are some photos!
